st (pr)

The works (PR) are made from vinyl overlays, with different levels of brightness. On a silver foil, I stick another translucent brown one that transforms the work into this metallic mud tone. «PR» refers to silver from the river, (Plata del Río)  an inversion of the Rio de la Plata. The final color reminds me of this brownish river; late movements and concrete Rio de la Plata schools are mixed in paintings that shine intermittently, like the regional optimisms. These pieces were made in 2014 at FAAP’s São Paulo residence (Armando Álvarez Penteado Foundation).

CUBISCONKRETFUTUINFORMALIKREACIÓN is the name of an exhibition that took place at Galería Inmigrante, which used to operate inside Librería Galerna. The show was a kind of joke that in the end was not funny even for me. The word that designated the exhibition, a sort of catalanization of the tendencies referred to above, in the manner of an unpronounceable tongue twister, only produced spittle for the unlettered.

Folded metal sheets with the weight of my body and collages with photosensitive films and papers were the predominant materials.
